From oil paintings to the stage, Ogunquit has an impressive history in the arts. This Spring is all about kicking off a year-long celebration of that rich and wonderful culture.

Influential in Maine's Modernism art scene, our village has been home to wonderful and influential artists - from oils to the stage, Charles Woodbury to Bette Davis and Judy Garland. Throughout Ogunquit Village, cats and dogs painted by local renowned artists will be on display town wide - including at the Meadowmere. Each dog and cat features a special theme and will be out and about supporting charities and events year long.

At the Meadowmere, we would like to introduce Chase, our Environmental Dog. Named after Josiah Chase - the donor of Marginal Way - our puppy features Ogunquit's natural beauty and the efforts to preserve places like Ogunquit Beach, Marginal Way, local waterfalls and our fishing history. Toasted Brie Sandwich with Martini Mustard and Tarragon
Yield 8 Mini Sandwiches

INGREDIENTS:

• Shallots - 1 bulb minced
• White Wine - 1 cup
• Aged Balsamic Vinegar (SW) - 1/4 cup
• Tarragon Leaves - 1 small jar
• Brie Cheese - 1 small wheel
• French Bread - 1 baguette
• Butter - Enough to fry sandwiches
• Olive Oil - 2 tsps.
• Martini Mustard (or other flavored mustard)- 1 small jar

DIRECTIONS:

1. Place minced shallots, white wine, tarragon leaves and aged balsamic vinegar in small saucepan. Put on low heat until all liquid is evaporated. Set aside and cool.
2. Slice French Bread into round or diagonal slices.
3. Slice Brie cheese about ¼ inch thick
4. Spread French Bread with Stonewall Kitchen’s Martini Mustard
5. Put 2 or 3 slices of brie cheese on ½ the slices of French Bread
6. Put a pinch of tarragon reduction on the slices of bread with cheese
7. Top sliced Brie cheese with another piece of French bread.
8. Put a small amount of butter and olive oil in fry or sauté pan
9. Toast both sides of bread until golden brown, place in warm oven till cheese melts
10. Serve two warm sandwiches per guest on small plate.
11. Garnish with fresh grapes or berries of your choice. Enjoy!
